Aislyn Duffy, a Care Assistant from Colchester has won a Heart of Gold Award at a ceremony at Alderwood Care Home in Colchester today, Monday September 14th.

The Awards seek to recognise employees for their dedication and commitment in providing high quality care and compassion to all the home’s residents.

Nikki Leaney, manager of Alderwood said: “Those who have been nominated do not just do their jobs, they consistently demonstrate compassion and dedication to make our residents lives better each and every day.

“Aislyn fully deserves this very special recognition. She is a respectful, kind and happy young lady with a very caring nature. She is always going above and beyond for our dementia residents – indeed for all our residents. Her positive attitude and cheerful nature helps to make our home, a very happy home”.

Aislyn was presented with an etched glass plaque to commemorate her success and a Tiffany necklace by Alnur Dhanani, Chairman of Carebase, the company that owns Alderwood Care Home. Nominations for the award came from residents and their relatives, co-workers, social workers and local health professionals.

Aislyn said: “Our team and the residents mean everything to me – thank you to everyone for all your support.  The team at Alderwood are truly amazing in everything they do”.
