Providing peace of mind for family and residents
At Alderwood, it always makes us proud to hear that our care has given a family back their peace of mind, providing reassurance that their loved one is happy and safe. In order to give the best possible care, we use a variety of ways to regularly gather feedback from our residents and those closest to them. We listen intently to our residents and their family members in our anonymous annual survey. We deeply value their feedback and it is used to continually improve our service.
This is the heart-warming response to our 2023 survey.
Compassionate, personalised care
Our skilled team receives on-going training and support so they can provide the high-quality dementia care that residents deserve. We’re delighted that nine out of ten families feel the team provides the care residents need, and 100% of residents feel team members know them, their likes and dislikes well. One family member told us: “Our mum is safe and happy, and we can be more relaxed knowing mum is so well looked after.”
Kindness, dignity and respect
100% of residents said that they are treated with kindness, dignity and respect. It is important to us that we extend the same support to families, so we were pleased that nine out of ten relatives said that they felt they could speak to senior management if they wished to, while 100% of residents said they are happy living here. One relative told us: “The quality of care is outstanding. The staff are kind, friendly and helpful. My relative is happy & well looked after.”
A happy home
Our home encourages friendships and connections through a variety of meaningful activities. Ten out of ten residents said they are supported to take part in activities and hobbies. One resident said: “Staff are fantastic and we have lots of laughs during the course of the day.
