Alderwood invites the local community to its Summer Fete

The Alderwood Summer Fete took place on Saturday 3rd August from 2pm.

Alderwood care home in Colchester hosted a Summer Fete which was open to the local community.

The Summer Fete took place at Alderwood care home on Saturday 3 August from 2pm. Residents, friends, family members and staff enjoyed an afternoon of summer entertainment, along with the local Colchester community who were also invited to join in the fun for free.

There was a raffle, an ice cream van, smash the crockery, a tombola, games stalls, a bbq and afternoon tea, as well as a brass band that played all afternoon. The stars of the day were UK Junior Latin & Ballroom Dance Champions, Luke Miller and his partner, who put on a dazzling performance in the style of Strictly Come Dancing to entertain everyone who attended.

All proceeds from the Alderwood Summer Fete have been donated to the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity that is close to both Alderwood and Carebase’s hearts.
