Alderwood Receives Gold Standards Framework Accreditation

The home is commended for providing excellence in end of life care.

Alderwood Care Home in Colchester has just been awarded Commended status, in gaining the Gold Standards Framework accreditation for end of life care.

The National Gold Standards Framework (GSF) is the leading training provider of end of life care for frontline health and social care staff in the UK.  Its adoption ensures that residents with life-limiting conditions can live as well as possible right up until the end of their lives.

As the largest palliative care training programme for care homes in the UK, GSF accreditation is recognised by regulators, the Care Quality Commission.

Nikki Leaney manager of Alderwood commented: “We are privileged to give every individual excellent end of life care. We strongly believe that it has be right, every time for every person. The Gold Standards Framework has enabled us to embed this approach throughout our home. We look forward to continuing to put to this learning into practice.”
