Alderwood Care Home takes to the ice

Alderwood care home treated its residents to a fun day out last week.

Several of the residents were taken to the local ice rink to try their hand at ice-skating. After being inspired by watching the Winter Olympics and Dancing on Ice, the residents enjoyed a couple of hours skating around the rink.

Activities are an important part of Alderwood’s timetable and the activities coordinators try and make the trips as interesting and fun as possible. Doing new and unexpected activities is always a great way to improve residents’ interaction and enjoyment.

The trip was very successful and although something that some of the residents would not have dreamed possible, they loved every minute of it and are keen to return.
